For Machine Guns.
1,500 rounds ball ammunition for each effective gun, i.e. each gun properly manned with an efficient gun detachment.
Note: This will not be required for 4 or 5 years, there being a reserve supply of ammunition on hand.
Capitation Grant.
$25 for each man on the rolls on the 1st of January in each year, or enrolled between that date and 1st October following.
$25 for each efficient.
$20 for each Proficient. Ranks above and including that of Sergeant, out of this Capitation Grant the Commandant will be required to provide:
1. Supply of uniform to Volunteers.
2. Practice ammunition, additional to that supplied by the Government.
3. Payment of Sergeant Instructors.
4. Custody, care, and repair of arms and equipment.
5. Custody of Stores.
6. Upkeep of rifle ranges, and
7. All other expenses connected with the maintenance of
